Streamline your processes, make smarter decisions, and accelerate growth with Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Business Central is ERP software designed for mid-sized businesses. Developed by Microsoft, Business Central is used by 10's of thousands of organisations worldwide.
What is ERP? ERP is Enterprise Resource Planning. The IT industry loves an acronym. In more practical terms, Business Central provides the finance, inventory, sales order processing, purchase order processing, and manufacturing service order management functionality that you need to grow your business and run it more efficiently.
What do we mean by mid-sized? Anyone employing more than 20 employees and less than 1,000.
Business Central was born back in the 80's - in Denmark - by a company called Navision. Having secured a significant share of the European market, the business was acquired in 2002 by Microsoft, which wanted to get into business applications. The product was renamed Dynamics NAV. It was then comprehensively re-engineered as a SaaS/cloud application - and continues to lead the mid-market worldwide.
There are lots of good reasons - you'll find the subject discussed at a greater length here. Often the decision comes down to the fact that Business Central is developed by Microsoft. As a result, the solution is very tightly integrated into every other Microsoft product that you use. That integration comes out of the box and offers real value in day-to-day use.
It’s like having a friend that helps you make smart decisions, offering insights and adaptability when you need it most. Business Central is your go-to partner for navigating the twists and turns of running a successful operation. It’s not just a tool; it’s your ally on the path to business excellence and success.
In selecting a Business Central Partner, you should look for three things:
Business Central’s great strength is the extent to which it is integrated with all the other tools that Microsoft provides. You need to work with a Partner that can help you take advantage of those other tools.
Find out how other customers feel. Don't ask for references - every business has a few. Ask your prospective Business Central partner what their NPS score is. What is NPS? A Net Promoter Score is a customer loyalty metric that predicts the likelihood of a customer repurchasing from you or referring your company to a friend. NPS scores range from as low as –100 to as high as 100.
If they don't measure NPS - look elsewhere. If their score is less than 20 - look elsewhere.
Learn about how the price of poor support can affect you here.
Great support is a function of many things - culture being perhaps the most important. At some level, however, it comes down to how many people you have manning the support desk - and how many of these really know Business Central. Ask the question. Go and meet them.
