From April, you will be able to use Business Central 2025 wave 1!

We'll share how the new update can help your business and highlight key features to watch out for. Microsoft has already released a public preview, and we've summarised the most beneficial updates for you, cutting out the noise to deliver only the essentials.

We're also excited to open up our usually exclusive webinar update session to anyone who currently uses BC in the UK. Join us for a unique opportunity to gain access to our Business Central guru, Steve Gardner, and his expert insights.

Deprecations

As part of the update, you will see that there will be some changes. Such as, A 150 tables containing over 1000 fields have been removed as part of v26. You can read the full list here.

It's important to note that, pages cannot be exposed as a SOAP endpoint.

The Power of AI

It's no secret that AI is a powerful tool that can help enhance your business processes. In the 2025 Business Central Wave 1, even more AI additions will be made.

Sales order agent:

  1. Convert email customer enquiries into sales quotes.
  2. Asks follow up questions if needed.
  3. Manual approvals to allow the sales team to review the quote.

In our Business Central v26 webinar, a demo of the functionality will be provided so you can see first-hand how this feature has evolved.

Autofill fields with Copilot

  1. When drafting a new record or editing an existing record, Copilot can suggest values for some of the editable fields on the page.
  2. Suggestions based on recently used values, frequently used values, or selection from values in a lookup field.
  3. Copilot makes the suggestion and allows the option to apply, discard or replace it.

Summarise Record with Copilot

  1. New fact box for card and document pages.
  2. Summarises the record displaying bullet points.
  3. Summaries tailored to the role you play within the business.

Supply Chain Expansion

With the latest version, Business Central will allow more than 1 user to post inventory at a time. However, there is a restriction that 2 people cannot post to the same inventory item at the same time. On a positive note, this could help avoid duplication.

In the update you'll find helpful supply chain expansions with:

Improved Manufacturing Usability: There will be added fields, actions, and fact boxes.

Open finished production orders: Correct errors in consumption or item tracking information

Use Edit in Excel: You can edit in Excel for output, consumption & item journals.

Other Useful Enhancements

As well as all of the above, there are further enhancements we think you may find just as useful, such as:

  • Improved integration to Field Service
  • Troubleshooting options for cost adjustments
  • New functionality for inbuilt Shopify connector
  • Analysis mode improvements allowing related tables to be added.
  • New financial reporting templates
  • Sustainability management new features
  • E-Documents
